ACCESS

The signs of a great soil

Born from the will and work of Philippe and Cecile BENEZET, the DOMAINE TURENNE vineyard is located at the heart of the Côtes de Provence golden triangle, in a Permian basin between Cuers and Pierrefeu (Var, France).

The vines are planted in a mix of clayey and chalky gravel, in a deep soil, poor in humus, over a sandy subsoil which allows perfect draining conditions.

It is in this poor soil, where the vines struggle to survive the harsh conditions, that rare aromas are created. yield are very small in this soil: no more than 40 Hectolitres per hectare.

An exceptional microclimate

The climate is of Mediterranean type: cold and dry in the winter, rainy in autumn and spring, and warm and dry in the summer.
A humid and windy microclimate hydrates the vines during the summer. Without it, the region would be barren!

Complementary grape varieties

DOMAINE TURENNE grows different varieties of grapes: Syrah (12%), Grenache (9%), Cinsault (25%), Mourvedre (16%), Carignan (27%) which are all components of the red and rosé wines. The white wine is made out of the Petite Clairette du Var (8%) and Rolle (3%).
